Equity & General runs the Altro partnership for accountancy firms. Each firm has a named Partnership Manager at Equity & General, and the firm stays at the centre of the client relationship.
Equity & General Financial Services has advised UK clients since 1997 and is independently owned. It is directly authorised by the Financial Conduct Authority, reference 474163. Its advice is independent, so its financial planners can recommend any provider in the market.
Around thirty advisers, paraplanners and administrators look after more than £400 million for over 10,000 clients. Advice is given by phone, by video or at the client’s home.
Consolidating old pensions, company contributions, drawdown and annuity decisions, and how much the client needs to retire.
Whole-of-market portfolios matched to the risk a client can live with, including a discretionary managed service, ECCO.
Life cover, critical illness and income protection for the family, and key person and shareholder cover for the business.
Whole-of-market mortgage advice for the client’s home.
Wills, lasting powers of attorney and succession planning.
Using the allowances a client is entitled to, alongside your practice’s tax work and with your firm involved.
Equity & General works with accountants through Altro, with mortgage brokers through Pecunia, and with advisers approaching retirement through Fiducia and Securo.
Equity & General has built its client base through introductions from professional firms. Altro is the same arrangement for accountancy firms.

How the regulated relationship works. Accountant partners introduce clients and support the conversation. All regulated advice, recommendations and implementation are delivered by Equity & General Financial Services Ltd, which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.
Some advice firms are appointed representatives of a larger network and advise under the network’s permissions.
Equity & General holds its own FCA authorisation, number 474163. It is responsible for its own recommendations.
The firm is independent. A financial planner can recommend any provider in the market, including the client’s existing one, and can recommend no change.

Clients need the same things from a financial planner as they did in 1997: protection for the family, looking after what they have built, saving, and planning for retirement and later-life care.
Advice is given by phone, by video or at the client’s home, and the firm’s clients are spread across the UK.
The head office is at 2 Charterhouse Mews in London.
Equity & General is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. There is no charge to your firm, and we do everything to set it up for you.
